The Acton Boxborough Farmers Market is thrilled to announce that on opening day, June 19th, The Silver Unicorn Bookstore (a market partner) has joined with Direct Federal Credit Union to give away 150 books to our market patrons to help us honor Juneteenth.
This generous gift was facilitated through DFCU’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “Direct Federal is proudly committed to ensuring there is diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of our business. We are focused on ensuring that each and every person with whom we interact feels honored, celebrated, and appreciated for who they are. This includes our members, employees, board members, vendors, visitors, and community partners.” (from the DFCU website)
Michael Ferreer and Daniel Nevarez of DFCU will join Silver Unicorn owner Paul Swydan to hand out the books to both children and adult market-goers.
