Wanna Win Market Moolah?
During the week of Sept. 6, you'll likely receive the West Acton Neighborhood Guide in your mailbox (if you live in Acton, Boxborough, Stow, Harvard, or Littleton). Look for our ABFM ad, cut it out and bring it to market on Sept. 12 or 19 for our 9/19 drawing. Everyone who comes to market is a winner in our eyes! But if you submit your ad to us at the ABFM table, you may be the lucky winner who will walk away with $25 in ABFM Market Moolah to spend at the market!

Master Gardener Kristi Twichell on
COMPOSTING: The Rotting Science

Why is composting so important?
Will it make my yard smell?
Can I compost if I don't have much room?

These are questions that Master Gardener (and ABFM board member) Kristi Twichell often hears during her vegetable gardening classes. The truth is that almost anyone can create compost — known reverentially in garden circles as "black gold." Learn the basics of composting; it doesn't have to be complicated! Kristi will share all she knows about composting, and answer your smoldering questions on the rotting science!

COMPOST HAPPENS
Let's face it — compost is a miracle! Put various rotting, slimy, icky contents in, and take beautiful, nutrient-rich soil out. Go figure. Children will learn about this amazing process, do a related hands-on activity, and perhaps even go home with a small bag of finished compost with resident decomposers!
