Reminder: SPRING MARKET DAY
This Sunday, 5/23!
Ready for a taste of the summer ABFM season? Join us for Spring Market Day, 10am–2pm! Returning and new vendors will tempt you with:
- early produce (peas, asparagus, lettuce, chard, rhubarb, spinach)
- specialty goods (artisanal breads, honey, condiments, pastries, bagels, soaps, etc.)
- sustainably raised/produced cheeses and meats
- bedding, perennial, fruiting, and hanging plants
Also at spring Market Day:
Stop by the ABFM table! We'll have a kids' Three Sisters takeaway project — corn, squash, and beans — to be planted in your own garden, and Kristi Twichell, Master Gardener, will be on hand to answer your gardening questions.
Join AB PIP for a Solar Cooker Demo and Sampling
Let the sun shine! Check out the solar cooker demo to learn about the science behind this eco-cooking technique, and sample some solar-cooked goodies, courtesy of AB Parent Involvement Project (PIP). Visit www.actonpip.org for more information on PIP's education enrichment activities, calendar, and resources.
Foraging Workshop with Russ Cohen, July 13
Learn about and sign up for ABFM's first Foraging Workshop, July 13, 6–8pm, here in Acton. Russ Cohen, Arlington-based wild foods enthusiast and environmentalist, will teach participants how to see, identify, and harvest wild edibles. His book, Wild Plants I Have Known ... and Eaten, will be on display at market. Who knows what treats lurk in your own backyard?!
While you're on Pearl Street check out the
